"A. C. Gilbert Erector set"

The clock is ticking for our move to AZ. In anticipation we have started going through some of the boxes of goodies we have accumulated over the years. We were pleasantly surprised to run across an Erector set that we had forgotten about.

We opened the wooden box and snuck a peak into the past. DH wanted to sit down and erect a new house, but DW insisted that we didn't have the time this evening. LOL! DH was thinking oversized garage, Great room, and a large kitchen. Man did we laugh at that thought! The set has an original Instruction Manual that was actually bound together by needle & thread.

WOW how the times have changed. It was really cool to go back in time & wonder what it was like Erecting as many crazy ideas that came to your mind. To be a little boy and to get this as a b'day or Christmas present must have sent them over the edge. Judging by all the little screws, nuts, & bolts this would NOT pass for a safe toy in this day and age. DH found what he thought was the last thing he made when he was a kid before tucking this little treasure away only to be discovered later in life. It truly is a blast from the past. Enjoy!
