Sink or Swim?

Well here it is, Sunday evening. Easter will soon pass us by for another year. We enjoyed a wonderful buffet at Mystic Lake Casino today. What a spread! We came home after our delightful and filling meal & decided to put the finishing touches on our new sink in our bathroom. We have spent many evenings watching Designed to Sell & Flip This House. The majority of ideas we have gotten from these shows is to have an updated bathroom & kitchen. As you have seen in our previous Blogs we have been updating our bathroom. What we realize is if you want it finished quickly you should hire the professionals to do it. However we have decided to broaden our horizons and dabble in the construction & remodeling fun ourselves! Our old sink was a plain white porcelain sink. It has worked well for the both of us, but didn't fit well with the look we are going for.

Once again we're off to our local Lowes. We love this store for the ideas and assistance they provide. We have had incredible experiences with the Lowes staff. They have been amazingly helpful to us & they don't look at us like a couple of morons. As far as construction goes, we are morons! : ) With that said, we looked for a new sink & thought perhaps a plain pedestal white porcelain sink will do. DH & DW heehawed with each other about cost, look, & what WE both liked while browsing the bathroom section. What we agreed upon is a Vessel Bowl sink. We brought it home, followed the directions & started to install it. We went to hook-up the plumbing & realized that the new fittings from the faucet will not work. The problem being is the house is old & doesn't have individual shut-off valves. We had to completely shut-off the main water supply. To not elaborate on this situation, DW was NOT happy!!! It only took 2 days, three trips to Lowe's and lots of expetives to finish this project! To make a long story short, we've installed the beautiful new sink & will be sad to leave it behind when we move.
