Just ran across this old Photo of my Grandfather Dan Long. He was a Minnesota Highway Patrolman. He was a pretty sharp looking guy.

Engine Hoist
Well, It's been a while since our last post. We've been busy with the Holiday's and now the auction is coming up again in a week. DH's brother Charlie is hauling down Tom's 413 from his old Imperial. He needed something to be able to get the Engine out of Charlies truck and onto an Engine stand. DH's dad and wife assembled it today while I was at work. It turned out great and DH can't wait to try it out this coming weekend.

Saguaro Lake - Phoenix, AZ.
Saturday was a nice day here in the desert. We booked a reservation to board a boat that does a 90 minute tour of Saguaro lake. The Captain narrates as you putter along so you get a story behind what it is you're looking at. It was very informative.
The views of the lake are breathtaking. Steep cliffs pushing upward towards the sky as if trying to grasp the sun. It's magnificent!
One of the mountain views we had was of a peak called "Four Peaks". It's the mountain range that's actually shown on the AZ license plate. We did not know this until the captain told us. We learned something very important that day.
The tour of the lake allowed us to see for the first time nesting Bald Eagles on the face of a cliff. It was spectacular as they looked at us taking photos of them. It truly is a sight to see.
It was a great tour and we'd recommend it to anyone.
Of course a trip wouldn't be complete without a photo of us together.
